What really, truly matters

June 10, 2011

Every day when I get home from work, there are lots of things I really should do (like clear the furniture of its inch-thick layer of dust) and lots of other things I want to do (like blog). But most of the time, I put it all off to do something with Tooshie instead.

And… I don’t feel guilty about it anymore.

It took me awhile to get to this point but I’m finally here. He’s teaching me to throw my whole heart into loving the little things. He’s teaching me to live in the moment. He’s showing me what really, truly matters.

Before he came into my life, I read lots of books on how to do this and thought I “got it” but I really didn’t. Until now.

Thanks, Toosh.

i fight that battle every. single. day.

lately i decide to let the laundry stink and the dishes pile. After weeks of rain and creative kid business, we finally have time outside together and they are happy.

Also, we have been eating naughty things for dinner, like ice cream, to avoid making dishes. SHHHHH don’t tell my hubbs he thinks I’ve just been better about chores :)

This is a beautiful post. I love it.

One of the things I’m most looking forward to about becoming a mother is learning all these lessons that I know only a child can teach me.
