Exhilarating!

February 13, 2010

That’s what it felt like to be in the stadium as hundreds of Olympians walked by me and 2.5 billion people around the world watched.

Thanks to everyone who commented/emailed/tweeted/texted to tell me they saw me and the bump! My favorite call was from my mama who told me she and my dad sat beside each other on the couch and each time I appeared on the screen, they both hit each other out of excitement. From what I understand from everyone, I think they’re gonna be black and blue tomorrow.

If you missed it, here’s a glimpse: (the belly makes me kinda easy to spot, no?)

And another shot snapped from a friend’s TV:

Source: Oh! Apostrophe (thank you so much E!!)

My head is still spinning (and my face hurts from grinning!) but I promise to tell you all about it tomorrow.

I was looking for you and I missed it. I feel silly. I made olympic cookies and we had canadian beer to watch the opening ceremonies, so exciting!

There were two pregnant women on the screen (one on the left and one on the right). I showed my husband your picture on your blog and we both agreed the one on the right was you! So exciting! We saw the TV pan by your belly so many times! :)

Ha — I’m like Leslie. I said “I know her!!” and my husband said “how?” And I said “uh, well, I read her blog…and she made my hair flower for our wedding! So there!” He just rolled his eyes. :)

That is so cool, really something to remember forever!

My husband and I totally saw you a bunch of times!!! I felt really cool telling him that my “bee buddy” was going to be at the opening ceremony, and even cooler when we kept spotting you on screen. Also, hubby said, “She’s got great rhythm” during your dancing stints :)

What an amazing memory for you guys! No doubt the baby will enjoy hearing about and seeing his Olympics debut :) Congratulations!

    OMG. How exciting!!!
I just found out about your blog while writing a comment over “always a bridesmaid, never a bridezila”.
I watched the whole ceremony. It was soooooooo beautiful. Splendid. Can’t believe you were right there. That is awesome. You look so pretty.
    Have a nice weekend.

I saw you there!! I was sitting literally in your line of sight except waaaayyyyy in the back of BC Place. I was so excited I told the lady next to me I “knew” that girl. She asked me what your name was and without thinking I said “Seabreeze”. Luckily she was from France and just thought it was some odd Canadian name she’d never heard.

I never commented before but I’ve been reading your blog since WB days. I hope this doesn’t come across as too stalker-ish.

Hi Kasia! I’m so glad that I taped the Opening Cermonies (in addition to watching, of course)–I will go back and watch them over again–now that I know exactly where you were standing (…not leading out the Austrian team, which is where Clay ‘swears’ he saw you…*eye roll*), I’m going to have to go back and watch your many ‘big’ moments!

Congratulations, and kudos to for you for taking part in the OC! You’re such a smart girl to have volunteered for this! In spite of what you said about the rehearsals (teehee), it seems that it was well worth the arduousness and effort! As a mere spectator, I felt awestruck and proud–what an amazing experience for you and the baby!

BTW, you look fantastic, I hope you’re feeling just as well :)

I saw you on the opening ceremonies! I thought it was the coolest thing, I kept telling my husband I read her blog!I read her blog! And I commend you for dancing and moving on your feet for so long!!!! I would not been able to do it, and I am not pregnant! :)

I looked for you on the Olympics but I don’t know if I ever recognized you on live tv. I thought they zoomed in on your face at one point, but I wasn’t sure if it was you. How cool that you were right up front by the athletes like that! Do you have any video of it?

Do you get to keep the white clothes? I can’t imagine that skirt is that warm, even though it looks like it is stuffed with down.
