Spreading the love

March 17, 2009

I just face-palmed myself.

The lovely Professional Bridesmaid over at Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Bridezilla was so kind to pass on a sweet blog award to me a full two weeks ago and it somehow snuck under my radar. Good one, Kasia.

It’s no secret that even though my wedding was four months ago (wow, time flies), I still love me some yummy wedding goodness. Pro Bridesmaid’s blog is chock-full of fabulous resources and advice for a market which I still feel is grossly under-served: us cool Canadians, yo! So if you’re a Canuck bride, definitely head on over there and if you’re not, go anyways! Haven’t you heard? We Canadians are super friendly.

Love Ya Blog Award

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I know a few people who scoff at blog awards but I think they’re a lovely opportunity to spread good karma and link love. So here are a few blogs I read and enjoy:

Nanners Rambles – I met this gal at a friend’s wedding when she gave the No. 1 funniest Maid of Honor speech I have ever heard. Her blog kills me.

Life At Dollar Alley – I don’t remember how I came across this blog but I’ve been reading it for some time. If you’ve ever wondered what kind of crazies you come across when you work at a Dollar Store, you’ll love it.

A Jill Story – I’ve tagged her before but I’m going to do it again because if you haven’t read Jill’s stories yet, you’re missing out. Consistently one of my favorite writers.

2009: An Asian Odyssey – Our good friends just moved to Korea to teach English for a year and boy do they have funny tales to tell.

Working Girl – These two gals write about adventures in office life; they’re anonymous, so you know there are gonna  some gooood stories in there.

Serendipity and Spark – This source of delightfulness just so happens to be a Bee now but I’ve been admiring her non-wedding sparkiness for some time.

That’s A Corker – I found this uber-inspirational blog when the guy Matt applied for Seth Godin’s MBA program. Turns out he’s the brother of a real life inspirational friend of mine who writes Good Morning, Fabulous! – small world!

Ok that’s 8 so this one’s a bonus:

Captivate Me – This blog is pretty new to me but I find its sumptuous finds (ready for it?) captivating.
